Photo from PBA Images.MANILA — Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the San Miguel Beermen are set to bring their sibling rivalry overseas as the PBA makes its return to Dubai.</div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2025/7/25/san-miguel-reclaims-all-filipino-throne-denies-tnts-grand-slam-dreams-2142">READ: San Miguel reclaims all-Filipino throne at the expense of TNT&#x27;s Grand Slam dreams</a></div>OFWs and other PBA fans in the United Arab Emirates are in for a treat as the two league powerhouses are set to clash for a PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup duel on October 26, the league announced on Sunday.The game will be held at the Cola-Cola Arena on October 26, 6:00 p.m., Dubai time (10:00 p.m., Manila time).This would mark the first time that the two squads will return to Dubai since they both faced the NLEX Road Warriors in the same month and at the same venue in 2019.San Miguel Beer defeated NLEX, 98-94, on October 4, while Ginebra faltered against the Road Warriors the following day in overtime, 113-11.The Beermen and the Gin Kings did not face in the said Governors’ Cup games in Dubai that year as the erstwhile Kiefer Ravena-starred Road Warriors was the only club to see two games during that trip.BGSM and SMB’s upcoming matchup will now bring a different flavor this time around, as while the usual suspects of Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, and Tim Cone, and June Mar Fajardo, Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter, and Leo Austria are still around from their previous UAE trip, both teams are now with new rosters especially with the players coming from the Season 50 Draft.It will also be the first time that Ginebra will be without its long-time point guard LA Tenorio in an overseas clash as the Ateneo de Manila University product is now the head coach of their lifelong rival Magnolia Hotshots.On the other hand, this assignment will be a part of San Miguel Beer’s path to defending its All-Filipino crown which it recently reclaimed during the Season 49 closing conference.The Beermen defeated the previously Grand Slam-seeking TNT Tropang 5G to rule the Philippine Cup. Coincidentally, they also ousted the Gin Kings in the semifinals in seven games to return to the championship stage.
