UAAP Media/File</div>MANILA -- An Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order has been issued against former Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin and other members of the basketball team&#x27;s coaching staff, the Department of Justice announced on Wednesday.DOJ Sec. Fredderick Vida said that aside from Baldwin, the ILBO also covers former Ateneo team manager Christopher &quot;Epok&quot; Quimpo, Reynaldo Jacinto Jr., Dean Castaño and Sandro Soriano.This, as investigations continue into the deaths of Ateneo student-athletes Divine Adili and Rene Baterbonia, who perished in a drowning incident during a team-building activity last June 8 in Dipaculao, Aurora.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/6/8/uaap-ateneo-s-adili-baterbonia-pass-away-in-drowning-incident-1959">READ: Ateneo&#x27;s Adili, Baterbonia pass away in drowning incident</a></div>&quot;Let me emphasize that an ILBO is a monitoring mechanism, it is intended to alert authorities should the subjects attempt to travel abroad while the investigation is ongoing, it is not by itself a restriction on travel nor a finding of liability,&quot; Vida said.Baldwin and Quimpo <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/6/15/ateneo-head-coach-tab-baldwin-resigns-in-wake-of-student-athletes-deaths-1424">resigned from their respective posts</a> last Monday.Baterbonia&#x27;s legal counsel had <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/6/11/baterbonia-counsel-seeks-immigration-lookout-bulletin-order-vs-ateneo-coach-baldwin-1215">sought an ILBO against Baldwin last week</a>, with Atty. Israelito Torreon noting that the coach is &quot;at the very least, a material person whose knowledge may be indispensable in determining the circumstances surrounding the team-building activity.&quot;ILBOs direct immigration officials to note a subject&#x27;s movements in and out of the country and to have them go through secondary inspection if necessary.While the DOJ has recommended Precautionary Hold Departure Orders against individuals involved in flood control projects anomalies even without a pending court case, Vida said at this point it time, PHDOs are not necessary.In the case of PHDOs, individuals are prevented from leaving the country.Vida also stressed that investigations remain ongoing and the DOJ is ready to take its mandate when formal cases are already filed.&quot;We ask the public to allow law enforcement agencies to do their work and to refrain from speculation while the evidence is being gathered,&quot; Vida said.Vida, however, stressed that schools have obligations to parents and their children.&quot;Pag hinatid mo ang anak mo school, pumapasok iyong substitute parental authority at dito pumapasok ang obligasyon at responsibilidad ng school authorities, curricular man or none, extracurricular,&quot; Vida said.Vida also emphasized that in the course of investigations, all personalities who may be involved are being looked into - school officials, coaches - who have been negligent of their duties. &quot;Ang tanong, ito ba ay aksidente o may pagkukulang sa pag-iingat na ginawa ng school authorities o kaya ay iyong mga kasama at kabahagi ng university-sponsored activity,&quot; Vida said.On Wednesday, several Ateneo players appeared before separate probes of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to shed light on the incident. <div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/17/ateneo-basketball-players-face-cidg-nbi-probe-on-teammates-drowning-1027">READ: Ateneo basketball players face CIDG, NBI probe on teammates&#x27; drowning</a></div><div></div>
