Handout/VSPCMANILA -- Victoria Sports Pro Cycling (VPSC) is confident heading into 2025 after a series of milestones in the past months, including victories in international races.</div>VSPC founder Pako Ochoa said on Wednesday that the team -- launched just over ten months ago -- competed in 20 races across 18 countries in 2024, with each of their cyclists covering at least 30,000 kilometers.More crucially, they gained plenty of lessons from their stints in Europe, including the Tour of Salalah in Oman, where VPSC&#x27;s Nicolas Sessler won the general classification (GC) and the second stage.The squad ranked fifth overall in the Trans-Himalayan Cycling Race in China, where Jeroen Meijers finished sixth overall. Ochoa also touted their achievements in the OITA Urban Classic in Japan, where Meijers ruled the Road Race while Ean Cajucom placed second in the Criterium.While he was proud of their results, Ochoa put more emphasis on the culture that they are building in the team, and in the local cycling scene as a whole.&quot;Ang idea ko as our biggest milestone na na-accomplish natin this year is that we have, the team has created a culture for Filipino cyclists to have &#x27;yung opportunities to compete at the highest level of cycling, and to compete against the biggest riders sa mundo ng cycling,&quot; he said during a thanksgiving event at the Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City.&quot;I think ang pwede nating ipatong na isa pang milestone doon is not just the culture, it&#x27;s not just the opportunities na nabibigay natin for the Filipino riders. It&#x27;s also &#x27;yung environment for the riders, to be fully equipped with the proper tools, proper knowledge, proper guidance from mga senior riders natin. So that they can take on the difficult and challenging terrain that is cycling,&quot; he added.They have greater goals in mind for the 2025 season, starting with the Sharjah Tour in the United Arab Emirates in January and the Philippine Nationals in February. They are also tipped to compete in the Netherlands, Slovenia, Greece, Spain, and Serbia in the first half of the year.Ochoa said they will keep in mind the examples set by Filipino sporting icons whenever they compete, be it locally or abroad.&quot;We are inspired by &#x27;yung mga Filipino athletes na nagpakita sa atin na kaya nating mga Pilipino. Like Hidilyn Diaz, like EJ Obiena, Carlos Yulo, si Pacman, mga bilyarista natin.
