The Paris 2024 Olympic Games were a "huge success", but there are still "lessons to learn", International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach said on Tuesday (December 3).

He was speaking at the opening of the executive board meeting in Lausanne, the first one since the Games.

"We have to work at the moment where overall we are enjoying this huge success but where on the other hand there are still lessons to learn," he told members at the meeting.

The Games were also the last for Bach as IOC president, with the German, in charge since 2013, announcing in Paris that he would not seek re-election next year, paving the way for a new leader.
