It looked like people from all over the world were at the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon&#x27;s finish line on Friday (October 31) to pose for pictures before the big run on Sunday (November 2). &quot;For us, it&#x27;s important because, to be here in New York, it was a dream,&quot; said Gerry Turpia, 49, who came for the marathon with his friends from the Sicilian town of Agrigento in Italy. &quot;It was a big dream, and now we realize this dream, and we are now and we are here, and we hope all... everything is alright.&quot;Maye Lau and her friends arrived from Hong Kong. &quot;This is so energetic, it&#x27;s amazing,&quot; said Lau. &quot;We fully dive into the atmosphere. Especially in marathons, don&#x27;t have that much goal, you&#x27;re going to win or you&#x27;re gonna lose. Just do every step. Just do your best. That&#x27;s all matter.&quot;Hassan, of the Netherlands, recently became the first woman to run under 2:20 on Australian soil in Sidney. She also won medals during the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 5,000m, 10,000m, and marathon, and became the first woman to complete the trifecta. She was also named the 2024 World Athletics Woman Athlete of the Year. Regarded as the greatest marathoner of all time, Kenya’s Kipchoge will also make his TCS New York City Marathon debut on Sunday. He is an 11-time Abbott World Marathon Majors champion with wins in Berlin, Tokyo, London, and Chicago. He also won back-to-back Olympic gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympic and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Marathons, only the third man to do so. He was the first person to run a marathon in under two hours - 1:59:40 on October 12, 2019, at the &quot;INEOS 1:59 Challenge,&quot; a special event in Vienna, Austria. &quot;I feel good,&quot; said Kipchoge on Friday. &quot;I&#x27;m looking for it.
