<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1763621255908IMG_4670.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Handout photo</div>Aleia Aielle Aguilar just added another milestone in her budding jiu-jitsu career.The 8-year-old Aguilar proved too strong against Sarah Abuhijleh of the United Arab Emirates whom she blanked, 3-0, to clinch the title in the Kids 2, Girls Gi, 22 kgs, A Class final (grey belt division) in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (AJP) recently.She beat Maitha Almas of UAE via submission armbar in the semifinal to reach the final round.It was Aguilar&#x27;s fourth title n the AJP World Championship, arguably one of the most prestigious jiu-jitsu events held annually in Abu Dhabi.“I’m so thankful to God that I won again,” said Aguilar as she basked in triumph witnessed by her father, Alvin Aguilar, the founding father of Filipino mixed martial arts, at the Madubala Arena.“Thank you all, especially those who have been giving me encouraging words before this event,” added the young Aguilar.The annual Abu Dhabi showpiece features the best jiu-jitsu artists from all corners of the world, and has gained significant respect in the BJJ community, or the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a form of jiu-jitsu that emphasizes ground fighting and submission techniques.Aielle Aguilar, it seems, is already accustomed to this form of jiu-jitsu with good reason.“I focus on every move. Be patient in practice because that is the key to winning,” she said.Now, her patience is paying handsomely, as she remains perfect this year.Prior to her big victory in Abu Dhabi, Aielle has also won two prestigious titles – the IBJJF PAN kids in Orlando, Florida, and the Marianas Open in Guam.She is also world champion in both IBJJF and the AJP, known for its high-stakes competition and prestigious events, including the Abu Dhabi World Pro.
