MANILA -- Three runners who won gold medals in the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa received incentives from a local Filipino apparel brand after their triumphs in Ilocos Norte.Runners Chrisia Mae Tajaros, Eda Mae Arceo, and Trixia Anne Arellano received gear from World Balance following their exploits.Thirteen-year-old Tajaros, of Tanauan National High School in Leyte, claimed the first gold of this year&#x27;s Palaro as she dominated the 3000-meter run.Leading from start to finish at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium, she clocked in at 10 minutes and 18.6 seconds to redeem herself after last year&#x27;s silver medal finish.&quot;Naiiyak po ako kasi nakuha ko po &#x27;yung gold, hindi po nasayang &#x27;yung training,&quot; she said.Arceo and Arellano, both from Western Visayas, made headlines for running barefoot.Arceo won the elementary girls&#x27; 100-meter hurdles, while Arellano, dubbed the &quot;Barefoot Sprint Princess,&quot; secured back-to-back golds in the secondary girls&#x27; 100-meter and 200-meter sprints.World Balance provided the athletes with performance footwear and gear, while also extending support to their coaches.
