Photo from UAAP Media.</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — University of Santo Tomas overcame De La Salle University in a classic encounter to sustain its winning ways in the UAAP Season 87 women&#x27;s volleyball tournament.The Golden Tigresses prevailed over the Lady Spikers, 25-12, 22-25, 13-25, 25-23, 15-13, in a Wednesday evening thriller at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.Angge Poyos finished with 28 points on 21 attacks, three aces, and a block, and she also delivered 17 digs and 17 receptions.&quot;What a great match, sabi nga ng mga tao,&quot; UST deputy Yani Fernandez said after the contest. &quot;So pagdating ng fifth set, sabi na lang namin na kung sino may gustong manalo, siya na lang mananalo.&quot;&quot;Sa game na &#x27;to, talagang pinakita lang namin kung ano kami,&quot; added Poyos, who had an all-around outing for UST. &quot;Yung composure namin sa loob ng court, yun yung nag dala. They defeated them in four sets during the second round of Season 85, and swept the Taft-based hitters in Season 86 during Rounds 1 and 2, as well as the Final 4 in five-set outings.Tied at 11 in the decider, UST made two straight points for a 13-11 lead, the second of which came from a Marga Altea drop. Shevana Laput quickly answered with her own kill to bring DLSU to within one, 13-12, but Reg Jurado&#x27;s offspeed gave the Tigresses the match point, 14-12.A slight opening came for the Taft-based spikers after a service error by Bianca Plaza as this brought them anew to within a point, 14-13, but a double contact violation from La Salle libero Pia Rodriguez eventually sealed the win for UST. Jurado finished with 17 points, six digs, and a reception, Cassie Carballo tossed 22 sets with two points and six digs, while Altea had 10 points and one reception. On the other hand, this is the first time that the Lady Spikers posted a 1-2 start since Season 68 in 2006.This spoiled the 25-point, 17-dig, 16-reception game of Angel Canino, as well as Laput&#x27;s 18 markers and eight digs. <div>RELATED VIDEO:</div><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAEyze-tm4MR6kEa&amp;cid=ABUytQyMVFBU48LH"></script>
