UAAP Media.</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — Shevana Laput once again stood tall to power De La Salle University to its second straight victory in UAAP Season 88 women&#x27;s volleyball.Laput delivered in the clutch as the Lady Spikers swept University of Santo Tomas, 25-14, 25-15, 26-24, on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City to remain unbeaten early in the season.&quot;Even though I had [21] points, it was a total team effort,&quot; said Laput, who also scored La Salle&#x27;s final three points of the match and added three digs. &quot;Whatever that score was, we did that as a team because we all wanted to win it badly.&quot;&quot;We wanted to win this game. Of course, we want to finish all our games in three sets, and we wanted to finish the third at 25, but we extended it. So we just have to really show the ‘Lasallian Puso,&#x27;&quot; she added.Angel Canino also contributed 13 points, three receptions, and two digs, while rookie Eshana Nunag orchestrated the offense with 16 of La Salle&#x27;s 17 excellent sets.Still, it was Laput&#x27;s presence that proved decisive in the closing stretch.With La Salle trailing 22-24 in the third set, Xyza Gula misfired as UST tried to extend the match, allowing the Lady Spikers to capitalize on the costly error.Laput then took over, blocking Gula in back-to-back sequences to push La Salle ahead, 25-24, before sealing the sweep with a drop kill.&quot;Nag-extend na naman yung third set. Kaya lang talagang ginusto manalo ng mga bata. So ayun yung resulta. Talagang kailangan nilang maghirap talaga,&quot; said Lady Spikers deputy coach Noel Orcullo.On the other hand, Angge Poyos led the Golden Tigresses with 16 points, six receptions, and two digs, but it was not enough as UST remained winless after two games.Reg Jurado added seven points, while Cassie Carballo finished with six excellent sets.
