UAAP Media.</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — University of Santo Tomas finally barged into the win column in UAAP Season 88 women&#x27;s volleyball, with Angge Poyos leading the charge.Poyos delivered 21 points, along with three receptions and one dig, as the Golden Tigresses swept Ateneo de Manila University, 26-24, 25-18, 25-21, on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.Regina Jurado also stepped up with 12 points and 12 receptions, while Cassie Carballo orchestrated the offense with 14 excellent sets.&quot;I think magiging inspiration sa amin itong first win namin dahil galing sa dalawang talo,&quot; said returning UST head coach Shaq Delos Santos. &quot;I&#x27;m sure mas babawi pa kami sa mga susunod na games.&quot;Marga Altea chipped in eight points, while Xyza Gula added seven. However, it was Poyos&#x27; surge in the second and third sets that proved crucial for UST.After UST fell behind 1-7 and later 7-12 in the second set, Poyos helped spark an 18-6 run to power the Tigresses to a 25-18 win in the frame.The momentum carried into the third set, where Poyos scored eight more points to help seal the straight-sets victory.On the other hand, Donna Mae De Leon led the Blue Eagles with 10 points built on seven kills, two blocks, and one ace, while Ana Hermosura tallied eight points, 10 digs, and three receptions. It was not enough, however, as Ateneo absorbed its third straight defeat.
