UAAP Media.</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — Far Eastern University finally solved the puzzle that is National University, avoiding a reverse sweep to secure its second straight win in the second round of UAAP Season 88 women&#x27;s volleyball.The Lady Tamaraws showed end-game poise in their 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 22-20 victory over the two-time defending champions on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, earning their sixth win in nine games, with Lovely Lopez and Faida Bakanke leading the charge.Lopez tallied 19 points, 25 receptions, and 14 digs, including FEU&#x27;s sixth match point, while Bakanke delivered 22 markers on top of 11 digs.&quot;Pahabaan ng pasensya talaga, lalo na ngayong second round kasi lahat ng teams naka-adjust na,&quot; said Lady Tams deputy Manolo Refugia of the match, which was just two minutes short of reaching three hours.&quot;Kailangan nga pong habaan yung pasensya. Wala sa mukha namin yung sisisihin yung kasama kasi nag-error, talagang tiwala lang sa teammate,&quot; added Lopez.In addition, Aly Devosora was solid with 16 points, 11 receptions, and eight digs; Jaz Ellarina came through with five markers; and Tin Ubaldo dished out 20 excellent sets to go along with seven points and five digs.But in crunch time — after National U squandered two match points — it was Lopez and Ellarina who took matters into their own hands.Tied at 20 in the decider following a point by Chammy Maaya, Lopez delivered an attack to give the Lady Tamaraws a precarious one-point lead.Ellarina then denied the Lady Bulldogs any chance to extend the match, as the veteran middle blocker fired a service ace to seal the victory.&quot;Mas naging confident na ako lalo sa sa crucial points at crucial games dahil sa mga teammates ko,&quot; aired Lopez, who scored eight points in the fifth set.On the other hand, Sam Cantada led National U with 20 points, 20 receptions, and 13 digs, while Vangie Alinsug added 19 points, 14 digs, and three receptions. Abe Pono orchestrated the offense with 27 excellent sets, along with seven points and five digs.However, these were not enough as the Lady Bulldogs absorbed their third loss in nine matches.
