UAAP Media.</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — De La Salle University needed to go the distance, but preserved its unblemished record and officially clinched a twice-to-beat advantage in the upcoming UAAP Season 88 women&#x27;s volleyball Final Four.The Lady Spikers outlasted Far Eastern University, 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 19-25, 15-10, in their Wednesday evening clash at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City to extend their winning streak to 11.Angel Canino once again led the charge for the Taft-based hitters, finishing with 24 points on 20 attacks and four blocks, on top of 13 digs and 10 receptions, as La Salle recovered from setbacks in the third and fourth sets.&quot;Nung fifth set, ni-remind lang sila na kalimutan yung nangyari nung third at fourth,&quot; said La Salle deputy coach Noel Orcullo, as the Lady Spikers committed 13 of their 29 errors in that stretch.Fortunately for La Salle, Shevana Laput, who posted 25 points on 20 attacks, four blocks, and two aces, and Amie Provido, who tallied 17 points built on 10 kills, six blocks, and an ace, helped steady the squad.Eshana Nunag also dished out 32 excellent sets to orchestrate La Salle&#x27;s offense, while Katrina Del Castillo and Shane Reterta chipped in six and four points, respectively.In the endgame, however, it was Canino and Laput who carried La Salle to the finish line.With the Lady Spikers holding a slim 11-9 lead and FEU staying within striking distance, La Salle scored three straight points, capped by a Laput kill, to build a 14-9 advantage.Faida Bakanke momentarily halted the run, but Canino delivered the closing blow with an off-the-block kill to seal the victory.On the other hand, the Lady Tamaraws absorbed their fifth loss in 11 games, dropping into a tie with Adamson University for fourth and fifth place in the standings.Lovely Lopez led the Morayta-based hitters with 16 points and 24 receptions, while Gerzel Petallo added 14 markers, 18 receptions, and nine digs. However, their efforts went for naught as FEU could not contain La Salle&#x27;s 58 attack points, 10 of which came in the deciding set.
