Anji Salvacion shares homecoming stories and inspiration behind “Dalampasigan”

Everybody’s ray of sunshine, Anji Salvacion, radiates positivity and gratitude as she talks about the success of her single “Dalampasigan” in this episode of Kapamilya Chat.Anji has had a busy schedule since exiting the <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/pbbs10" target="_blank">Pinoy Big Brother</a> house just last December yet she always takes a moment to pause and thank the Man above. “I’m so thankful to God kasi grabe po talaga ‘yung pag-shower niya ng blessings sa buhay ko. And I never expect anything of it. Parang, unti-unti, natupad ko some of my dreams.”One of those dreams come true is coming out with her new single. She wrote “Dalampasigan” inside Bahay Ni Kuya as part of the housemates’ fundraising activity for the victims of Typhoon Odette that greatly affected parts of Visayas and Mindanao including her hometown in Siargao.Anji is happy with how the song became a vessel of hope and inspiration for listeners. But it’s worth noting how she doesn’t take credit for it, rather giving back the glory to the Lord, “It’s for Him and to Him.” She never imagined “Dalampasigan” turning into a full-blown single, let alone a chart-topper. Writing it, she was inspired by lovely memories from her island hometown, which she was able to visit just recently. Anji said she was welcomed by longing and nostalgia during the homecoming. “’Yung pangungulila talaga, ‘yun ang first na pinaka-na-feel ko. When I hugged my grandparents, my brother, my family, I was just outbursting with tears kasi sobrang nag-flow talaga, sobrang naging emotional ako. Kasi I couldn’t imagine that I was long gone there. For about four years na wala ako… Grabe ‘yung emotion, sobrang raw and strong how much we missed each other,” she described their reunion. Anji and family spread the joy by giving back to their kababayans. Her fans played a huge part in the community drive and she’s happy to have met such generous and loving people. “Hindi lang sila naging blessing sa akin but naging blessing din sila to others. And that’s what I’m most proud of sa family na ‘to,” she thanked her supporters.The <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/pbbs10" target="_blank">PBB Kumunity Season 10</a> Celebrity Top 2 went on to share her favorite part of the song, which is the second verse about love - the kind that’s longing and unchanging.“Dalampasigan” is out now on digital streaming platforms.
