Host Gail Banawis opened the episode fangirling over her interviewee, Erich Gonzales. And we get her reaction. Not only did Erich look beautiful that day, but she also charmed us with her never-fading sincerity and sweet, sweet smile. She’s still the same Erich we loved eighteen years ago when she joined Star Circle Quest at 14 – genuine and humble.

It has been a year since she last appeared on TV to focus on her private life, so we consider this a happy reunion with the actress. Here’s her episode of Tatak Star Magic Celebrity Conversations.

Erich is proud of her body of work, “That’s blood, sweat, and tears. Of course, hindi biro gumawa ng teleserye.” Among these projects, she considers Katorse the most unforgettable, for it was her biggest break. From Katorse, she went on to play lead roles in Tanging Yaman, Maria La Del Barrio,Two Wives, Be My Lady, The Blood Sisters, and La Vida Lena.

In the movie category, “Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang,” “I Do,” “Siargao,” and “Suddenly It’s Magic” are among her favorites, “Lahat ‘yun hard work namin, pinagpuyatan, pinaghirapan namin. So, that’s really something na you can be proud of.”

But it wasn’t just Katorse that brought Erich to where she is today. We can all agree that her passion, discipline, humility, and patience played in her success. Above all, she values professionalism, which she defines as coming on set prepared, being respectful of everyone’s time, and giving her one hundred percent best, “Kung walang one hundred percent, uwi ka na lang.”

Of course, Star Magic has been a big help in shaping her as an actress. “Star Magic has helped me and guided me in this industry for so many years. When you say Tatak Star Magic, parang nahahasa ka sa lahat ng bagay. Para sa akin, it’s just really gratitude.”

She continued, “Kasi dito ako nagsimula. After almost two decades, I’m still here. I appreciate everything. Kumbaga sa hirap at ginahawa, magkasama.”
