Celebrating her fourth year in the industry, Janine Berdin comes out of her comfort zone to create a new vibe for her music.Janine ticked an item off her bucket list, which is to produce an album. Her EP is titled “WTF I actually wrote these songs” and is composed of six tracks she penned from her deepest ‘hugots’ and experiences that listeners can surely relate to. The songstress wished to transform her music into something “dark and heavy,” thus the EP’s title. And she wanted each track to leave a lasting message.One song from the mini-album titled “She Was Only 16” is her way of raising her ‘voice’ against sexual abuse. “Pagod Na Ako,” a collaboration with JK Labajo, sends out a reminder that we must acknowledge our pain and don’t have to pretend to be strong at all times.If thoughts like “bakit ba kasi hindi ako siya?” hurt at night, let “I’m Not Her” bring you emotional catharsis. Janine also wrote a happy love song titled “Araw-araw, Ikaw” which she finished during a family vacation on a beach in Bantayan, Cebu. And for those who feel unseen in their own story, listen to “The Side Character,” which was first released in July 2021.The new-gen artist started out in the OPM scene as a<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tawagngtanghalan"> Tawag Ng Tanghalan</a> grand champion in 2018. That was four years ago. Looking back, Janine said she had her fair share of struggles, particularly getting sick in 2019 that caused voice loss. She was worried she might not be able to sing again but she also turned it into motivation to be careful with her voice and become a better singer.
