Teen no more, Seth Fedelin is learning how courtship truly works. To make it extra special, he had a James Dean-inspired photoshoot, conceptualized by actress Bianca Lapuz, that flaunted his ‘cool guy’ appeal. Had it stopped raining that day, he would’ve posed with a motorbike outdoors to complete the ‘Dean vibe’.Coinciding with his birthday celebration is the release of his single “Kundi Ikaw,” which he describes as a modern ‘harana.’ Although he hasn’t experienced it old-school way – strumming the guitar while the object of affection peeks over a capiz-laden window – he did sing to a girl before, and that comes pretty close to a real harana.Seth insisted to fellow guys that courtship is all about effort and tenacity, “Dapat magtiyaga, ‘yun ang mindset. Kahit text lang, kahit ‘di pa kayo nagkikita, maghintay ka kung talagang pursigido ka sa isang tao.” Part of that ‘pagtitiyaga’ is waiting for the girl if she comes late on their first date.If men have ‘ligaw’ language, Seth’s would be giving the girl his time than material things. “’Yung kaya ko siyang patawanin. ‘Pag nalulungkot siya, nandiyan ako. More on ipapakita ko kung anong klase akong jowa, kung ano ‘yung pagmamahal na meron ako sa’yo,” he described.For Seth, courtship isn’t about putting his best foot forward. He’d rather reveal his true self and be willing to change what the girl doesn’t like about him, especially if it’s a bad trait. And when the girl doesn’t get along with his friends, he’d talk it out than assume right away, “Mag-usap kayo. Tanungin mo rin kung bakit kasi baka may nakikita siya na hindi mo rin napapansin. Mag-usap kayo tapos hanapan ninyo ng solusyon… Nasa pag-uusap ‘yan at tiwala.”The <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/articles-news/sethdrea-makes-hearts-beat-with-catchy-music-in-iwanttfcs-lyrics-and-beat-musical-series-17766" target="_blank">“Lyric and Beat”</a> star went through hypothetical situations that he may or may not consider as red flags. The first scenario required his opinion on checking phones during a date, which he thought is a giveaway of a girl’s feelings. It could mean she’s shy or uninterested, or mostly a sign of disrespect.Next, on who pays the bill on the first date, he thought the one who invites would pay, and it’s usually the guy. “Bago ka makipagkita dapat may ipon ka. Kumbaga, pride natin ‘yun, eh,” he thought. Moving forward, the pair can split the bill, or give and take, “Swerte kung kunwari ikaw na nanlibre ng pagkain, tapos pauwi sasabihin sa’yo ng babae, ‘Ako na sa pamasahe.’ Swerte ‘yun! Kumbaga, parehas kayong nakaka-realize na equal kayo.”Going back to his single, a line from it says, “Patatawanin kita palagi.” Asked whom he dedicates this line to, Seth burst into his adorable laughter, and answered, “Sa ngayon, sarili ko na lang siguro ‘yung pinapatawa ko.”But he promised himself, “Darating ‘yung time na may paglalaanan tayo ng kantang ‘yan.”
