From working behind the scenes as a program researcher, John “Sweet” Lapus transitioned into an on-cam talent with ease, thanks to his skill, creativity, and amiability. He has this magical connection with his audience, as if he knows exactly what their taste is, what they’d like to watch. He became known as Sweet after appearing in the ABS-CBN sitcom “Arriba Arriba” headlined by Jolina Magdangal. And from there, he’s starred in various television and movie projects. As Director Jojo Saguin puts it, Sweet is able to offer something new to his audience, twist his portrayal in such a way that it’d look different from the previous one even if they’re all gay characters. Not the type to rest on his laurels, Sweet has ventured into directing.
