Throughout the remarkable three decades of “ASAP,” not only individual artists or groups graced its coveted stage but also onscreen pairs and real-life sweethearts that brought kilig vibes to fans and viewers alike. And among them are the well-loved musical tandem of Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada, fondly called by their “ship” name “KDLex.”

They may have started in showbiz in different decades and in different ways, but the universe had its wondrous way of making their paths intertwine—via “Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10,” in which both of them used to be housemates. Their chemistry was so undeniable and compelling that they officially became a loveteam as soon as they went back to the outside world. And one of their first appearances together was on “ASAP,” where they went on to become among the much-awaited figures on the all-star Sunday afternoon party.

Thus, as “ASAP” marks its year-long 30th anniversary celebration, KD and Alex were among the Kapamilya artists who shared their unforgettable first time and favorite experiences on the musical variety program, as well as conveyed their heartfelt “thank you” messages. 

Alexa, who tags herself as part of Batch 2022, thanked “ASAP” for letting her and KD showcase their facets as singers. She stated, “Thank you sa ‘ASAP’ kasi naging way siya para ma-introduce sa maraming tao ‘yong kakayahan namin ni KD as singers and also as performers. Thank you sa ‘ASAP’ dahil parang nadi-discover kami ng mga viewers na kaya rin pala naming mag-perform.”

On the other hand, KD owes it to “ASAP” for believing in him when he assumed that he no longer had the chance to become an artista since his career started during the pandemic, which made him a Batch 2020 baby. 

When asked regarding her first foray in the show, Alexa related that even though she identifies as Batch 2022, since it was the year when she started to have a regular segment, she has been appearing on “ASAP” ever since her child and teen star days. She and her contemporaries would sometimes grace the program back then, usually to take part in the opening number. 

Meanwhile, KD recalled that he shared a singing prod with ASAP New Gen Singers, which included Diego Gutierrez and Sam Cruz, on his debut on the show. 

With regard to her favorite memory, Alexa imparted that it was the times when she would promote a new single. Thus, she’s very thankful to “ASAP” for always opening their doors to her. Besides, she also feels ecstatic whenever they would sing their own compositions on the program, especially if it would be their first time to perform them. 

For KD, on the other hand, it would be his and Alexa’s first-ever appearance on “ASAP” following their “PBB” eviction. Regardless of the production number they did, he found it fun since he truly enjoyed every moment of it.

And lastly, Alexa reiterated how grateful she is to “ASAP” for being one of their avenues to exhibit their musical prowess as a musical tandem, which their fans and shippers love about their partnership. 

KD seconded it by saying, “Kasi when I and Alexa sing onstage together tapos kaming dalawa lang, masaya kasi parang nagja-jamming lang kami [at] nag-eenjoy lang kami.”

However, it seemed that KD is not really keen on doing a dance prod, which prompted Alexa to remember her first-ever “Supahdance” experience, which she initially assumed was just a prank. Nonetheless, she remarked that it was one of her most memorable performances on “ASAP”.
