Certified contesera Dylan Genicera from Pagbilao, Quezon was able to hit not just one, but two of her goals during her The Voice Kids Season 5 stint as she didn’t only make it through the blind audition, but she also became part of her ultimate idol KZ Tandingan’s Team Supreme.

Her parents were actually expecting to have a baby boy when they had her, so the only name they prepared was “Dylan.” This has made her the object of attention of people who finds it bizarre, but she already got used to it.

She was only two years old when she learned how to sing, which she inherited from her father who also possesses vocal talent. Her Mommy Jocelyn recalled that she was 6 when she started to sing in school programs, while she was 8 when she joined her first-ever singing contest, in which she was hailed as the champion.

This inspired and encouraged her to join more competitions, including The Voice Kids, wherein the 11-year-old rocker rendition of Sampaguita’s “Usok” absolutely impressed Coach KZ and made her become the last artist to fill the remaining vacant seat in Team Supreme. She wasn’t able to contain her delight when she turned for her since she’s her ultimate idol.

In her The Voice Kids DigiTV guesting, Dylan reiterated to host Jeremy G and guest co-host Lorraine Galvez that she got her singing talent from her father, who guides and even joins her in singing during her rehearsals.

When asked how she felt while onstage, she recalled: “Bago po ako mag-perform, sobrang kinakabahan po ako at excited. Nanginginig po ako sa kaba. Pero no’ng [tumapak] na po ako sa entablado, ang nasa isip ko na lang po ay i-feel ‘yong kanta at i-enjoy. Kaya nagulat po talaga ako na umikot po sa akin ‘yong idol ko.”

Since she’s the one who last made it to Team Supreme, she enthused how immensely proud she is of herself for being the last one to fill the team of her ultimate idol. With regards to what she’s looking forward to learn from Coach KZ, she revealed that it would be to enhance her stage presence and to unleash her being a swagger. She even demonstrated a sample of the kind of swag that she would want to showcase during the battle rounds.
