Luke Dela Cruz impresses The Voice Kids coaches, hosts with beatboxing skills

As the pandemic compelled us to stay inside our homes for more than a year, our 11-year-old artist Luke Daniel Dela Cruz from Baguio City made the lockdown productive for him by not only letting his hair grow, but by also developing his talents in singing and beatboxing. And now, he’s among the young artists of The Voice Kids Season 5.

During those days when they were stuck at home, her older sister named Bea and their Mommy Esperanza intensively taught him how to sing. But apart from having a promising vocal talent, he’s also good in dancing, drawing, and beatboxing, which he just gained this year.

Even though they are not full-blooded siblings, since his Ate Bea is her mom’s youngest child from her previous relationship while he is the eldest in her current relationship, the two of them are still able to amazingly form a beautiful relationship. Aside from being his vocal teacher, his Ate Bea is also her ultimate partner in singing and creating TikTok videos, too.

Just on the first few notes of his rendition of the Regine Velasquez hit “Pangako,” Luke was able to seemingly impress the three judges in an instant, yet it was only Coach KZ Tandingan who turned for him, making him an automatic member of Team Supreme. Apart from his singing skills, he also had the chance to showcase his beatboxing prowess and perform alongside the three coaches.

During their interview in The Voice Kids DigiTV, Luke and his Mommy Espi weren’t able to hide their excitement and happiness when asked by hosts Jeremy G and Elha Nympha how they were feeling while Luke was singing on-stage and by the time when the Asia’s Soul Supreme turned her red chair.

Luke once again demonstrated his beatboxing skills as per hosts’ request, but this time, he exhibited the four different sounds that he can make.
