With how they seem to always look good and flawless every time we see them on television, social media, and other platforms, it’s probably quite hard for others to believe that celebrities also have insecurities within them.

While some of them are not keen on letting others know about it, there are others who fearlessly admitted during their Tonight With Boy Abunda guestings that even though many people consider them beautiful and perfect, there are still some things in themselves that they are not confident about. They’re proofs that just because they are well-off and famous doesn’t mean that they do not have insecurities anymore. Here are some of them:

She may be one of the hottest and most sought-after actresses in the country over the past years, but did you know that Kathryn Bernardo still has an insecurity? During her dressing room interview with the King of Talk in 2018, she ‘fessed up about not being proud of her morena skin before. However, with the help of the people around her, the “Hello, Love, Again” star is able to boost her confidence and learn to embrace it.

Nadine Lustre considered her skin color as her greatest insecurity, too. She recounted in her TWBA guesting in 2018 how she initially wished to become mestiza in order for her to easily score projects. However, the award-winning actress realized that she’s unique and nobody possesses what she has, inspiring her to be proud of it and accept it.

Starting off her career at a very young age, Andrea Brillantes has already gone through a lot of challenges both in her personal and professional life, which include having insecurities. She admitted to Tito Boy that she experienced extreme insecurity for three years, to the point that she hated her physical appearance and attitude. The High Street star used to deal with it by ‘punishing herself,’ but it was really the unwavering love and support of her family, friends, and fans that helped her overcome them.

Fresh out of Bahay ni Kuya in 2016, Vivoree appeared on TWBA not just to talk about her remarkable stint as a teen housemate of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7,” but her insecurity as well—her being hairy or ‘mabalbon.’ She used to hate it as she tended to get bullied, but she eventually learned to shrug those nasty comments off, move on with life, and only listen to the voices of people who matter to her, like herself and her family.

Despite being pretty and talented, Jayda Avanzado revealed to Tito Boy in 2020 that she actually used to have a couple of insecurities. First was her Tagalog, since her first language was English after she was raised by her parents, Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragoza, in the United States. Second was her sungki, or abnormal tooth growth, which was fixed after she went through different dental procedures. And lastly, she also confessed about how she used to fantasize about having a curvier body, which she’s able to overcome via the realization that it’s her flaws that make her beautiful.

Many moms out there were, perhaps, able to relate with Isabelle Daza when she talked about getting insecure after gaining weight due to her pregnancy. According to her, she gained almost thrice her normal weight while conceiving her first child, not to mention that she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so she really made it her job to shed off her extra fats through a consistent workout. The model-actress also boldly mentioned her struggle to love herself as she body-shamed herself at some point in her life.

Last on this list is Yassi Pressman, who opened up about being insecure with her legs and skin before. While she possesses the fair complexion that a lot of people yearn for, the actress admitted that she used to often have pimple breakouts, which were eventually minimized through proper skincare. Meanwhile, she found her legs quite bigger than they should be when she was still younger, which she realized was just a beauty misconception.

Whose admission surprised you the most, Kapamilya?
