TWBA Throwback: Kylie Verzosa shares her realization from competing in beauty pageants

Back in Binibining Pilipinas 2016, Kylie Verzosa was considered a strong contender for the highest crown, the Miss Universe-Philippines. Although she bagged the Miss International-Philippines title, it was still falling short of the ultimate goal and fans’ expectations, so much so Kylie doubted herself. Later on, she realized everything’s just part of her destiny. In a 2016 episode of <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tonightwithboyabunda" target="_blank">Tonight with Boy Abunda</a>, Kylie took on the hot seat now as Miss International 2016, winning the sixth title for the Philippines. She and Tito Boy looked back on their first conversation where they talked about her failure to bag the Miss Universe-Philippines crown. Tito Boy mused on God’s incomparable knowledge. He said Kylie’s win as Miss International is proof that God knows what He’s doing. Kylie reacted, “As cliché as it may sounds, everything happens for a reason. Lahat ng hirap ko, lahat ng questioning, ‘Did you really put me here? Why?’”Tito Boy added, “Maraming beses sa ating buhay na hindi natin alam kung bakit nangyayari but now we understand that it’s okay that sometime only He up there knows what’s happening. Then, things unfold and you say, ‘Ah okay, ganu’n pala ‘yun.’”Kylie agreed, adding that understanding God’s plan comes with a little discomfort but so much growth, “Sometimes it comes with a lot of struggle, a lot of questioning and doubting yourself. Pero it makes you stronger as long as you learn from it.”From being a beauty queen, Kylie embraced her new title as an actress, starring in several Kapamilya shows including <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/losbastardos" target="_blank">Precious Hearts Romances Presents Los Bastardos</a>.Check out Kylie’s inspiring musings in this throwback TWBA video!
