MANILA -- Fashion designer Rajo Laurel on Friday revealed who his muses are and why he has been a favorite of celebrities over the years.Laurel, who is marking his 25 years in the fashion industry, credits his success to his sisters and his mother, who have been his muses. &quot;They gave up their dreams in order to pursue mine… I wouldn’t be here without them,&quot; he told ANC&#x27;s &quot;Headstart.&quot;Laurel&#x27;s celebrity clients include Kris Aquino, Sharon Cuneta, and Regine Velasquez, who helped define his career in the &#x27;90s. Another frequent client is Lea Salonga, whom he has known since they were around 7 years old. Laurel admits he&#x27;s a fan of the Filipina Broadway icon, having grown up loving theater.When dressing Salonga, Laurel recalled that he would always choose to emphasize her &quot;amazing&quot; face by showing her shoulders or creating a v-neckline and &quot;control the curves&quot; of a &quot;Botticelli woman&quot; like her.This, he said, has been the secret why clients, like broadcast journalist Karen Davila, choose him to dress them up.&quot;Siguro kasi marunong akong makinig,&quot; he said. &quot;I’m very diplomatic.
