MANILA- Justice Secretary Aguirre II on Thursday admitted that he appointed his godson to replace sacked Immigration official Michael Robles, who was embroiled in an alleged P50-million corruption scandal.

Aguirre, during a Senate investigation into the bribery mess, said he was the principal sponsor at the wedding of Jake Licas, Robles' successor as acting associate commissioner.
