<p>MANILA - A high pressure area and easterlies, not the equinox phenomenon, are causing the high temperature in the Philippines, state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.</p><p>PAGASA weather forecaster Ariel Rojas said there is no equinox phenomenon this May. Ang autumnal equinox naman ay mangyayari sa 23 Setyembre pa,&quot; PAGASA said. </p><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/PAGASA.DOST.GOV.PH/posts/2794123250697566" data-width="auto"> </div><p>Rojas said dry season in the Philippines will last till the end of May but the country will expect thunderstorms during the afternoon and night.</p><p>He added that rainfall will be experienced by approximately June or July when the southwest monsoon occurs.</p><p>Rojas said a low pressure area is being observed outside the Philippine area of responsibility at 1,055 km south of Davao City at 3 a.m. </p>
