Last Friday night (January 21) went ‘kilig’ and a little sexy as teleserye heartthrobs Paulo Avelino and JC De Vera entertained viewers in the “Truth or Dare” benefit show to raise funds for Typhoon Odette survivors.By every target amount of diamonds donated via live streaming app Kumu, Paulo and JC would take on truth-or-dare questions courtesy of netizens and hosts Alora Sasam and Darla Sauler. Here are the highlights of the fundraising event.The Kapamilya actors already had explosive revelations as early as the first round of the “Never Have I Ever” game. Paulo owned up to being a third party in a relationship before. JC once ghosted a girl. Both have already fallen in love with a co-star. In the latter round, they admitted drunk-calling an ex-girlfriend, experiencing love at first sight, and crying over a girl. They never kissed a girl on the first date. There were also questions related to their fellow artists. Paulo and JC almost had the same answers on the leading lady who made them ‘kilig.’ They mentioned Angel Locsin, whom they’ve worked with in the drama series <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/thegeneralsdaughter">The General’s Daughter</a>, as well as Angelica Panganiban. Paulo said he never imagined getting the chance to work with these ladies. Asked which Kapamilya actress they’d want to be their backride passenger, Paulo gave a quick reply: Janine Gutierrez.They named their top 5 Kapamilya actors as well. JC’s male Kapamilya idols would have to be Paulo, Piolo Pascual, Daniel Padilla, Gerald Anderson, and Empoy Marquez. For Paulo, the top picks are Jake Cuenca, JC, Piolo, Daniel, and Enrique Gil. Paulo and JC said they’re open to doing BL series opposite any actor.Asked their most embarrassing childhood ‘kulit’ moment, Paulo recalled getting stuck on an escalator, “One time, sumakay ako ng escalator. ‘Di ba may hawakan ‘yun, sinakyan ko ‘yun ….tapos bandang dulo, naipit ‘yung pantalon ko.”Meanwhile, JC talked about an icky thing he used to do as a kid, “Noong bata, maharot ako, malikot, palatakbo. ‘Pag may kalaro ako, ‘pag malapit na akong mapikon or napikon na ako, dinuduraan ko ‘yung kalaro ko.”For the challenges, the two demonstrated the sexiest way to drink water, did handsome poses, and revealed their last selfies. JC gamely flaunted his abs and did stunts despite not feeling well that night.Also part of a dare was to look straight into the camera and pretend soothing an LQ. Paulo was surprised when Janine reacted to his message via a video. She also praised her <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/marryme2021">Marry Me Marry You</a> leading man for taking part in the charity drive. “Hi, Pau! I’m so proud of you! Talagang hinahangaan kita kasi alam kong pinaglaanan mo ng oras at pinaghandaan itong event na ‘to. Siguardo ako na maraming kang matutulungan na survivors ng Odette at nagpapasalamat ang lahat ng mga Kapamilya sa inyo,” expressed Janine.The tandem also chatted on-air as part of a dare after reaching a million diamonds on Kumu. The first thing Paulo said when Janine picked up the call was, “You’re live, so don’t say anything unnecessary.” Haha! Here’s how the conversation went:Paulo: “Type mo daw ba ako?”Janine: “Tawag ka ulit ‘pag umabot ng 2 million.”Paulo: “’Pag 2 million, sasagutin mo? Sasagutin mo na ako ‘pag umabot ng 2 million?”Janine: “Isipin ko.”A few more questions and dares later, they finally reached the target amount of 2 million diamonds, which the guest actors also helped make happen by dropping their own donations. Fans can expect Zanjoe Marudo, Hyubs Azarcon, LA Tenorio, Joao Constancia, Jameson Blake, Jeremy Glinoga, Seth Fedelin, Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca, BGYO, Carlo Aquino, Jerome Ponce, Nikko Natividad, Edward Barber, Robi Domingo, and Luis Manzano to face the “Truth or Dare” challenge. As of January 19, ABS-CBN Foundation has given aid to over 113,000 families through collected donations. Aside from donating cash, in-kind donations, or virtual gifts through the event platforms, people can also help by purchasing P100 or P400 Tulong Bag donation vouchers on Lazada and Shopee. These donation vouchers provide rice and canned goods to individuals and families that were affected by the typhoon.
