<p>Love is intoxicating, exciting, and warm – but it’s also something that can fade over time and eventually fizzle out. Where do two people go once that happens? This is the exact scenario that <a href="~/"><u><strong>Sugarcane</strong></u></a>’s new song called <a href="~/"><u><strong>“Sinehan”</strong></u></a> dives into.</p><div><strong>A song of melancholy</strong></div><p><strong>&quot;Sinehan&quot;</strong> is about two lovers on the verge of a breakup, realizing that they are not meant for each other. The overall message of the song expresses the sorrow of letting go, acknowledging that some love stories just aren&#x27;t destined to last.</p><p>Writing <strong>“Sinehan”</strong> was a collaboration between <strong>Carl</strong> and his other bandmates, <strong>Cedric Angeles</strong> and <strong>Froilan Bautista</strong>. The track initially started as two separate songs; Cedric contributed chorus parts from a song he had a hard time creating verses for, while Carl offered verses for an incomplete song. They then decided to combine these two songs, with Froilan creating the bridge for it. From all of this, “Sinehan” was born. </p><p>Vocalist <strong>Carl Guerzon</strong> delves a bit into the inspiration for this heartfelt track. “This song started when I began to realize that the joy and romantic spark my then partner and I once shared in our relationship had faded, and it became obvious that we weren’t the source of each other’s happiness anymore. As the melody of our relationship continued to play, the lyrics painted a picture of fading emotions and a growing realization. The love and passion that once defined us have slipped away, leaving a void that neither of us could fill any longer.”</p><p>With lyrics like “<em>pumipiglas ang ating puso, patungo sa isang panibagong yugto</em>” paired with emotion-charged vocals, <strong>Sugarcane</strong>’s latest track is bound to capture the hearts of their fans. It’s the perfect anthem for those who are going through the process of accepting that love can fade, and those who are trying to move on from a failed relationship.</p><p>Its newly-released <strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUxdzinLdLM">music video</a></strong> perfectly complements the lyrics and melody, showing a story of love that started out happy, but gradually fell apart. The video stars actress <a href="~/"><u><strong>Francine Diaz</strong></u></a>, who also happens to be a fan of <strong>Sugarcane</strong>’s music. When we got the opportunity to have her star in the MV of <strong>&#x27;Sinehan,</strong>&#x27; her professionalism really exceeded our expectations. It was definitely a great experience working with such a talented and down-to-earth actress. We’re grateful she agreed to be part of our MV,” <strong>Froilan</strong> shared. </p><p>Despite having themes of melancholy, Sugarcane is hopeful that “Sinehan” will also help fans see the wonder in letting go. They want anyone who will listen to their song to realize that they can only experience true freedom once they accept that some things just aren’t meant to be. Once they do, they can eventually find true serenity.</p><div><strong>New look, new music</strong></div><p>Even if their newest single explores past experiences of the band, they definitely have their eyes set on moving forward. <strong>Sugarcane</strong> recently introduced a new look, along with a new nickname for their fans - the <strong>Sugarfolks</strong>. It’s no coincidence either that they’ve refreshed their branding just before releasing <strong>“Sinehan.”</strong></p><p>“We definitely want to keep our fans on their toes and have them anticipate every release, not just music-wise but also through our visual identity. This song also marks the start of our new era: from pink/violet, to beige, and now green,” shared <strong>Froilan</strong>. “We also named our community <strong>Sugarfolks</strong> to show our fans that they are the reason behind each of our milestones and achievements.”</p><p>When asked what the band has planned for the future, they had one answer: Definitely more songs. Fans can expect songs that are within the usual sound that the band has established, and also songs that feel and sound unfamiliar also for the band themselves.</p><p>This shows how <strong>Sugarcane</strong> isn’t afraid to continuously experiment with their sound, always looking to create music that aligns with their personality and the community they’ve built.
