They say boys love to talk about girls when they hang out. But not when two members of the group like the same woman. That’s what happened when Axel, in the mood to annoy his best friend Kyle, started to ask Chino (Aldrin Angeles) what he knows so far about Rica, the new architect in Balai Arkitektura, during their friendly basketball match. He made it sound like he’s interested in her.For some reason, Kyle was affected, so he intentionally hit Axel with the ball and asked if they’re supposed to play or just chat. Axel was offended. It almost led to a fight had Chino failed to soothe the tension.At some point, Rica grew more comfortable with Axel, whom she shares an adorable past with as childhood friends. The closeness was an ugly sight to Kyle, who showed temper when Rica and Axel insisted on attending an event together. While Kyle had his reasons, considering Rica will see Jigs (Markus Paterson) in the event, his temper went overboard. He said he’ll be the one to handle the conflict. But Axel replied that he and Rica can also handle it.In the next scene, Kyle had a violent reaction to Axel and Rica’s motorcycle bonding. He got mad at him for enabling her caprices, which may trigger her trauma. They don’t really see eye to eye when it comes to Rica’s mental health condition. Kyle believes they all must be careful around her. Axel, on the other hand, would insist that Rica doesn’t need special treatment. He said, “She’s tough. Just because hindi siya nagkukuwento sa nangyari doesn’t mean hindi siya okay,” to which Kyle replied, “And just because she acts tough, hindi ibig sabihin okay siya.”Axel lectured Kyle for being so overacting and for pretending he is Rica’s therapist. The confrontation ended with a question of who really knows what’s best for her.The rivalry started to affect their work, shown in that intense confrontation over an office problem. The issue was the road widening effort related to their project which Kyle didn’t like due to the sacrifices and hassle on their part, but which Axel easily allowed thinking he doesn’t have control over other people’s decisions. From there, the argument touched on Kyle’s habit of insisting what he wants and pretending he’s a savior all the time. Mae (Hasna Cabral) stopped the fight and asked if they’ve gone out of topic.It seems the rivals don’t choose the proper battleground anymore. They’d fight wherever they want to, be it in a public place like a bar. They argued again on whether or not Rica must open up about her trauma. Axel thought it best to just let Rica do what she wants as if her life is back to normal again, which Kyle equates to mere pretension. Kyle confronted Axel for acting like a superhero and asked him to spare Rica from his quest for validation.
