Mariel Rodriguez on her rift with Toni Gonzaga: Less talk, less mistakes

Mariel Rodriguez has always been known for being outspoken and very talkative both on and off cam; but when it came to her dispute with Toni Gonzaga, the bubbly actress-host kept her silence even after the news came out last September 15. Many were waiting for her reaction via Twitter, where she keeps everyone up-to-date with the happenings in her life while she'rsquo;s still on leave from Pilipinas Win Na Win. But she remained non-committal with her last post that same night. 'Good night! Let's all sleep well. Peaceful dreams friends :) Thank you!!! Mwah :)'

Toni'rsquo;s revelation that she has decided to cut her ties with her former Entertainment Live co-host/good friend came as a shock to many people including those from show business as well. The fact that it has nothing to do with Toni'rsquo;s cancelled movie project with Robin Padilla (Mariel'rsquo;s beau) only made the whole issue more intriguing. Unfortunately for the entertainment reporters, Toni couldn'rsquo;t be prodded into revealing the real reason behind their dispute save for a few hints.'nbsp;

Even Boy Abunda, who is Mariel'rsquo;s manager, claimed that he had no idea that something was amiss between the two stars who are both close to him. But he was also quick to say that he understands why Toni had to speak about it during the press con of Kokey @ Ako. 'I was totally clueless na merong 'lsquo;di pagkakaunawaan si Toni at Mariel. [But] I saw Toni struggling not to say anything kasi Toni knows na ang dulo nito ay isang mabuting pagkakabigan. But of course that'rsquo;s territorial. When you'rsquo;re in a press conference, you'rsquo;re asked questions. Yung iba haharapin mo, yung iba 'lsquo;di mo sasagutin kaya naiintindihan ko yung kaganapan,' said Boy, who'rsquo;s determined to do whatever it takes for Mariel and Toni to reconcile when the time is right.

In the meantime, Mariel gave a brief statement about the whole issue via her KText yesterday, September 16. 'The truth shall prevail' and 'Less talk, less mistakes.' We also learned that Mariel was with Robin and his son Ali around the same time Toni had her press con for Kokey @ Ako inside the ABS-CBN compound. Apparently, Mariel was in high spirits after Robin was able to settle the legal issue involving his school in Quezon City.'nbsp; 'We are in the car. Bought him ps3 games :) napakabait na bata! I will miss him! Alam mo 10 years old siya pro parang hindi siya 10 years old dahil matured ang isip niya. A true gentleman!' Mariel said of Ali.
