Marvin Agustin shares that he has no political ambitions

<img src="" alt="011112-marvin_main.jpg" width="305" align="left" border="0" height="290"/>After spending time with his family during the holidays, Marvin Agustin said he is busy again being an actor, a concert producer, and an entrepreneur. “Sa bahay lang ako with my family both nung Christmas and New Year. We had a New Year’s party, nag-band kami sa bahay para hindi magpaputok, nag-ingay na lang kami. Kumanta ako kaya nag-ingay kami (laughs). Nawala naman yung mga bad spirits (laughs),” he joked. The actor, who is currently doing a movie with Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford under Wenn Deramas, also excitedly shared that he is expanding his production company to include not just concerts but movies and television as well. “I’m enjoying my life kasi medyo kakatapos lang ng contract ko (with another network). I’m enjoying my freedom,” he admitted to <a href="">Push.com.ph</a> during the opening of the Fitness Exchange Gym in Makati City last January 6. Apart from running various successful businesses, Marvin said he prioritizes his acting career as well. But the one thing he will never get involved in is politics. “There are one million ways of helping Filipinos without getting into politics. Lagi kong sinasabi, you don’t wake up one day and you want to serve as a politician. It’s something na gusto mo pa talagang dating gawin. It’s not me. It’s a very selfless, talagang ibibigay mo lahat and maski sometimes family and even yourself you tend to forget so probably tutulong na lang ako sa ibang paraan,” he said. This year, Marvin said his resolution is to improve himself even more. “It’s nothing really that I would not do anymore. My resolution would be something that I would enhance, sabi ko I’ll read faster kasi I’m a slow reader. I can’t really finish a book sa dami kong ginagawa. I’ll exercise more and take care of my health. I’ll spend more time with my family and my kids,” he said. Marvin also admitted that even though he wants to get involved in more movies this year, directing will take a backseat in his plans. “No, I can’t do it this year. Not this year. Pero potentially of course. I’ve directed before and I want to do it again. Kaya lang not this time yet. Not yet. wala pa, that’s my problem nga now eh. I can’t think of any movies to do yet so yun yung iniisip namin. That’s my goal for the year, to produce a film. I want to do more drama series man sa TV or movies. I really enjoyed yung ginawa namin ni Direk Marilou (Diaz-Abaya) na Ikaw ang Pag-ibig. I want to do more movies sana nga na inspiring, moving na drama,” he explained. Despite his various priorities, Marvin said he will always love acting. “Number one I’m an actor, number two are my restaurants and number three yung me as an entertainment producer,” he added. Marvin revealed that the secret to his success in his various businesses are largely due to his friends. “Seriously, the secret is my business partners. With how busy I am, with a lot of things na gusto ko gawin, entertainment, restaurants and meron pa akong ibang gustong pasukan na negosyso I am blessed with friends and business partners na andiyan sila lagi at saka sabi ko nga hungry student ako eh so buti na lang yung mga business partners ko are teachers so tinuturuan talaga nila ako,” he said during the FTX event.
