Ralph de Leon opened up about what encouraged him to join the entertainment industry. Prior to joining showbiz, Ralph was part of a family of entrepreneurs.

"For me 'yung showbiz po talaga, it's something that I really learned to love also. As much as people say na hindi ko po kailangan mag-trabaho, sobrang yaman na 'yan, generational wealth... pero ako po kasi talaga hindi po ako umaasa dun eh. From a very early age [my family] really taught me the value of working for what you have, of hopefully being independent one day," he remarked.

The Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemate remarked that he sees himself growing in show business.

"Gusto ko po ng trabaho talaga na over the years na hindi po ako magsasawa and showbiz was an industry that I saw myself growing in. I just wanted to try everything first so when I got the opportunity to model, sige try natin. And after ng modeling, nag-commercials po ako. Nag-try po ako ng hosting konti for backstage po ng Miss Universe Philippines. And then parang sabi ko parang may kulang, parang hindi po ako nafu-fulfill masyado sa ginagawa ko dito so might as well let's go into showbiz, let's try it out, let's see how it works," he said.

Ralph later on realized that acting was something that he is passionate about after his first project with ABS-CBN. "Feeling ko po talaga 'yun ang gusto kong gawin especially after my first show with ABS-CBN, 'yung Zoomers po."

Though his friends were supportive of his decision to join showbiz, Ralph admitted that his parents took some convincing before they became agreeable to his decision.

"Surprisingly 'yung friends ko sobrang supportive talaga. With my family naman po it took convincing talaga," he said. "[Sabi nila], 'Sure ka?' Kasi unang-una hindi po talaga stable 'yung trabaho natin dito, alam naman po natin, they're always gonna find someone new to probably replace you. Also, everyone is going to want the spotlight so ang dami talagang nag-aagawan for that."

He had a conversation with his parents which made them understand what show business meant for him. "After ko po makausap sila ni mama, naintindihan naman din po nila where I was coming from. [Sabi nila], pero kailan mo panindigan 'yan kasi hindi pwede 'yung papasok ka, tapos aayaw ka... If you want this, you have to stick to it, you have to work hard and take the necessary steps to be able to succeed," he said.

Ralph highlighted that he joined showbiz primarily because he wanted to grow in his craft. "I didn't go into this because of the fame. Of course, money is a factor but it's not the number one thing. But it is really the craft. To just give this a shot is already something big for me," he said.

Ralph was hailed as the 2nd Big Placer with his duo partner Will Ashley in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, earning 25.88% of the total votes during the Big Night. They took home ₱500,000 each.

"Never stop dreaming. Always fight for your dreams," Ralph said during his speech on the Big Night.
