043016-marion_main.jpgThree years into the business and Marion Aunor remains happy over the outpouring of blessings that she has been getting, the most recent of which was the music video of her EDM song “Unbound.”

In an interview with Marion, she shared that the song is actually inspired by the fact that she remains as a struggling singer-songwriter in the business. That is despite the fact that she has already released her second album titled Marion where “Unbound” was included.

Hindi pa ako talaga sa peak ko so a lot of people always give me advice. Minsan solicited, minsan unsolicited. Pero ayun nakalagay sa song ko na ‘I’m tired of all the voices in my head telling me what I can and I cannot be.’ Just all of the thoughts that are going through my mind as someone who’s struggling in the industry,” she said.

The idea is to inspire people to stay positive and determined in spite of the fact that many people are pulling you down.

“So ‘Unbound’ kasi unshackle yourself, parang unlimited ang possibilities for the future,” she explained.

The song’s music video features Marion, Morissette, and Alex Gonzaga.

“Initially pinitch ko ang song as a solo thing but si Sir Roxy (Liquigan) biglang brining up niya na gusto niya dati pa na magkaroon dati pa ng girl power-kind of anthem. He feels like the song would be perfect for it. So then we started kung sino ba ang gusto namin. Like dumaan kami kay Morissette and si Janella [Salvador] and eventually we ended up with me, Morissette and Alex Gonzaga,” she shared.

Marion welcomed the idea of her song being considered a girl anthem. Along with that, she’s also fine with the possibility of being part of a girl group, if it was even possible.

“I think it would be nice for people to see fellow celebrities are joining in one song and trying to inspire their fans collectively,” she said.

After all, Marion points out, collaborations are quite common in the music business these days “I think okay ang ganon and na-e-enjoy ata ng mga fans. I mean me as a fan [na-e-enjoy ko].”

The music video of “Unbound” is set to be released this May.
