<div><img src="" alt="062216-gawadurian_main.jpg" width="400" height="290" align="left" border="0"/>Gaya sa nagdaang mga taon ng pagbibigay parangal ng Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino sa <i>Gawad Urian</i>, ang mga independent movies o indie ang humakot at nag uwi ng mga tropeo kagabi sa kanilang ika-tatlumpu at siyam na taon. </div><div><br/></div><div>Apat na parangal ang nakuha ng <i>Heneral Luna</i> – ang Best Cinematography; Best Sound; Best Editing at Best Director. </div><div><br/></div><div>Ang pelikulang <i>Taklub</i> ni Direk Brillante Mendoza na pinagbibidahan ni Nora Aunor ang nakakuha ng Best Picture.</div><div><br/></div><div>Best Actress si LJ Reyes para sa <i>Anino sa Likod ng Buwan</i> at Best Actor naman si John Lloyd Cruz para sa <i>Honor Thy Father</i>. </div><div><br/></div><div>Pinag usapan ang naging acceptance speech ni John Lloyd na sinimulan niya sa linya na hindi siya naniniwala sa awards. Pero ipinaliwanag naman ni Lloydie ang kanyang nasabi, &#x27;Hindi yung award it’s the honor that goes with it eh, yun ang kailangan at mahalaga para sa akin sa paghihintay ko for the right time.
