Kapamilya actor Xian Lim will be hosting the Miss Grand International 2017 coronation night to be held on October 25 in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. This is the first time that the said pageant will have a Filipino host and this is also Xian’s first time to host a beauty pageant abroad.

Before he flies to Vietnam on Tuesday, October 22, Xian shared with Push how he felt when he was tapped for the role.

“I feel very blessed and excited na napili ako to host and I’m hosting this with Nicole Cordoves (Binibining Pilipinas – Miss Grand International 2016)… Sa’kin, I don’t know what to expect and it’s just gonna be an exciting feel and it’s different ‘pag pageant talaga,” he said, mentioning about the adrenaline rush and pumping up a live audience.

“Kasi it’s all about the beauty queens naman so we’re just there to have a good show and have fun with them,” Xian added.

“It is (my first time host abroad). Sabi ko, pa’no ba ‘to? Kailangan ko ng mag-aral ng mga Vietnamese (phrases) pero I’m sure it’s gonna be fun. It’s just gonna be a chill night and everyone’s just gonna be having a wonderful time kasi nakikita ko, they’ve been rehearsing for months na, eh,” he lightheartedly said.

As for his preparations, Xian is just looking at ways on how he can improve his hosting in general.

“It’s a different feel to be onstage and hosting and doing pageants for the past how many years. I’ve been to four to five Binibining Pilipinas na so it’s really different ‘yung feeling and ‘yung excitement na nabibigay niya sa’kin. I hope ‘yun din sa audience,” he said.
