Dimples Romana is proud to be part of ‘Deadma Walking’: ‘Punong puno ng kabutihan itong pelikulang ito’

<div> </div>After being part of the series The Greatest Love earlier this year, Dimples Romana said she is happy to cap off the year with another good project: the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Deadma Walking. “I’m so inspired after namin mapanuod yung pelikula kasi nasa panahon tayo na napakabilis ng buhay, marami tayong kakilala na in their 40s, 30s na pumapanaw na. Sana ito nga yung panahon para sabihin natin yung mga hindi natin nasasabi. Gusto kong i-share yung part why hindi dapat deadmahin ang Deadma Walking this Christmas. Kasi it’s an all Filipino movie, made by Filipinos for Filipino families,“ she shared.Dimples said audiences will learn a lot about friendship, love, and family in the Carlos Palanca award-winning story. “Di ba pag nanuod ka ng pelikula gusto mo iba iba yung pakiramdam na mararamdaman mo? At sana paglabas mo meron kang naiuwi. Ito yung pelkulang sobrang daming pabaon sa ‘yo. Yung paglabas mo ang dami mong binaon, ang dami mong dinaanan. Yung kung may problema ka makakalimutan mo kasi iisipin mo merong mas namomoblema pa kesa sa iyo,” she added.Unlike one of the lead characters in the movie (played by Joross Gamboa) who fakes his own funeral so he can witness his own eulogy, Dimples said she could never go through that kind of experience in real life. “Nung natapos kong panuorin yung sa Deadma Walking parang hindi para sa akin kasi I’ve lost one too many people from my own family. It’s going to be too painful for me to watch my own. So I guess because I lost my dad and I lost a sister so para sa akin hindi ko kaya. Pero siguro sa taong hindi pa nawawalan, medyo mas madali para sa kanila na i-accept yun na makita ang kanilang funeral. But for me, it’s not something that I can do. Masyadong mahina ang puso ko sa ganun. Ako talaga hindi ko kaya,” she admitted.As one of the nine films competing in this year’s MMFF, Dimples hopes all the films will get the recognition they deserve. “And at the end of the day, death cannot defeat the Filipino heart. Lalo na since this is a festival about Filipino movies and I’m sure everyone will be wanting to watch the other films and even I will want to watch the other films. Sabi nga ni Joross at the end of the day kampi kaming lahat dito. Walang sinong makakalamang or mauuna, dito lahat kami we’re really rooting for everybody. But of course you’re rooting more for your own film. I’ve seen people work through this project with good faith. Lahat dito parang punong-puno ng kabutihan itong pelikulang ito. Kapag napapagod sa set wala akong nakikitang nakasimangot kasi nakikita ko na punong-puno ng pagmamahal yung pelikula. So sana mag-transcend sa manunuod yung ganung klase ng pagmamahal naibinuhos naming lahat sa pelikulang ito,” she explained.

Dimples Romana looks forward to being part of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
