EXCLUSIVE: ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ is director Mae Cruz-Alviar’s ‘last’ film

<div><img src="" alt="041817-MaeCruz_PUSH.jpg" width="400" height="290" align="left" border="0"/>Fans of director Mae Cruz-Alviar will have to miss her for a while as she is set to take a break from directing.</div>In an exclusive interview with the box office director she said that the latest Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla box office film Can’t Help Falling In Love is going to be her last for now.She related that her lead stars were aware of this, hence their willingness to embark on the demands of their characters.Kathryn and Daniel both previously shared that they have experienced a bunch of firsts in the film including diving, cliff diving, and even caving.“Well first kasi brinief naman namin sila. We had a meeting with them na pinaliwanag sakanila lahat ng mangyayari. Pinaliwanag ‘yung mga adventures, mga ganon,” said Direk Mae.She admitted though that they expressed hesitations at first “But they were willing to do it.”“I remember this meeting na kasama sila Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) when we presented the concept to them. They asked me ‘So what are you doing after this?’” she said.“Then I said, ‘No, this is my last. This is my last before I take a long leave. Kasi I’m taking a big break for family,’” Direk Mae continued.That revelation, according to Direk Mae, bolstered Kathryn and Daniel’s willingness to undergo whatever tasks their film would involve.“Sabi ni DJ tsaka ni Kath, ‘Sige Direk sabihin mo kung ano ang mga gusto mong gawin namin dito, gagawin namin para sa ‘yo. Last mo na pala bago ka mawala,’” she said.In the end, she shared that the tandem “kept their word” during the entire time that they were making the film.“When we were filming it, wala talaga [akong narinig] especially DJ kasi ‘yung parang talon na ‘yun on any other circumstance siguro baka nag-backout na siya pero nag take two pa,” she shared. “Alam mong kinakabahan siya pero alam mong all out sila.”As for Kathryn, Direk Mae noted that she’s really the adventurous one.“Kinabahan din siya pero all out sila, willing to do anything and everything,” she ended.Catch Direk Mae’s last work before her long break Can’t Help Falling In Love starring Kathryn and Daniel in cinemas nationwide.
