ABS-CBN stars dominated the 48th Box-Office Entertainment Awards

042417-Winners1_PUSH.jpgKapamilya celebrities bagged almost all the awards given at the 48th Box-Office Entertainment Awards by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation. While the results have been released, the awards night will take place at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater of the Ateneo de Manila University on May 14.

The Phenomenal Stars of Philippine Cinema recognition went to Vice Ganda and Coco Martin for their movie, The Super Parental Guardians, while the Box-Office King and Queen were Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo for Barcelona: A Love Untold.

Star Cinema also earned recognitions for the movies, The Unmarried Wife and Everything About Her as its actors Dingdong Dantes and Vilma Santos won Film Actor and Actress of the Year.

Most Promising Movie Actor and Actress of the Year went to Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto who starred in Vince and Kath and James.

It is no question that Star Cinema also won Most Popular Film Producer/Production while Olivia Lamasan and Carmi Raymundo were Most Popular Screenwriters. Joyce Bernal was hailed Most Popular Film Director.

In the small screen, Jericho Rosales and Kim Chiu were awarded TV Actor and Actress of the Year for the defunct primetime series, Magpahanggang Wakas and The Story of Us while Banana Split star Angelica Panganiban took home the Comedy Actress of the Year award.

Real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre were hailed Prince and Princess of Philippine Television while Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano got the Most Popular Love Team of the Year award. Being relatively new in show business, McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson won Most Promising Love Team of the Year.

The stars of the long-running primetime soap FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano were also big winners.

Arjo Atayde and Susan Rocess were recognized as TV Supporting Actor and Actress of the Year while Yassi Pressman got Most Promising TV Actress of the Year. Its lead actor Coco Martin won Breakthrough Performance by an Actor in a Single Program.

It is also without a doubt that the show was hailed Most Popular TV Program Primetime Drama. As for the daytime genre, The Greatest Love claimed the spot.

Meanwhile, the Most Promising TV Actor of the Year went to Joseph Marco who is presently in the afternoon show Wildflower.

In the music category, Kapamilya artists Martin Nievera and Erik Santos were hailed Male Concert Performers of the Year while Angeline Quinto got the Female Concert Performer award.

The Voice Teens coach Sarah Geronimo won Female Recording Artist of the Year while young artists Bailey May and Ylona Garcia won recognitions for being the Most Promising Male and Female Singers/Performers. It’s Showtime’s Hashtags got Most Popular Recording/Performing Group.

ASAP also won Most Popular Musical Variety/Noontime TV Program while The Voice Kids Season 3 was the Most Popular TV Program for the Talent Search/Reality/Talk/Game category.

And speaking of kids, the awards for the Most Popular Male and Female Child Performers went to Simon “Onyok” Pineda and Xia Vigor. McNeal “Awra” Briguela won Breakthrough Child Star of Movies and TV.

Meanwhile, Ian Veneracion and Jodi Sta. Maria earned the recognitions for being the All-Time Favorite Actor and Actress while Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga-Soriano were Male and Female TV Hosts of the Year.

Tawag ng Tanghalan head jury Ogie Alcasid was awarded the Bert Marcelo Lifetime Achievement Award.
