During the October 10 episode of Magandang Buhay, Andrew E. and his protégé rap group Salbakuta shared some facts that fans might not know about them.

A post shared by SALBAKUTA (@salbakuta_) on

1. Salbakuta is a Bicolano word that means ‘pilyo.’

The group’s mentor Andrew E. recalled the time when they were pitching a name for the group. “Sabi ko sa kanila, ‘Bigyan niyo ako ng salita na, (when) you have to introduce yourselves, na bagong-bago sa pandinig. Bicolano ka di ba? (pointing to one of the members) Mag-isip ka ng Bicolano word.’ Then sabi ko okay ‘yung ‘Salbakuta.’”

Member Charlie Mac then explained that Salbakuta, in Bicolano, means ‘pilyo’ or ‘salbahe.’

2. Stupid Love is originally from Andrew E.

Andrew E. revealed that Stupid Love was his original song that he gave to Salbakuta for their first album. “Nung panahon na ginagawa ko ang first album nila, ang problema nung binubuo na namin yung eight songs, parang wala akong makitang song na pwedeng pang-radio. So sabi ko, ‘Ano kaya, bigay ko sa inyo isa kong kanta (Stupid Love), tapos gawan niyo na ng lyrics.’ And that became the master hit,” Andrew E. explained.

3. Salbakuta members used to work for Andrew E. as his assistants.

When asked how the group was formed, Andrew E. shared that the members used to work for him as personal assistants. “Bago ko sila mapili (para i-mentor), e nagtrabaho sila sa akin. Naging PA ko sila, so along the way, nagka-kilala kami, at the same time nakita ko yung talent nila,” Andrew E. explained.
