'Goblin' actor Yook Sung-Jae, Morissette to take part in search for next K-Idol in PH

<div> </div>With several Filipinos clamoring for K-Pop content, streaming service Viu Philippines decided to team up with ABS-CBN&#x27;s music channel MYX in their search for the next K-Idol. Having undergone rigorous training, the aspiring contestants or K-trainees must have the discipline in order to win the competition. Apart from the South Korean judges—namely singer JinHo Bae and dancer Dasuri Choi—OPM artist and Asia&#x27;s Phoenix Morissette Amon will also take part as one of the show&#x27;s jurors. Meanwhile, Goblin actor Yook Sung-Jae and Jung Joon-Young from the variety show 2 Days and 1 Night will serve as the K-trainees&#x27; &#x27;inspirations&#x27; from whom they will learn what it takes to become a K-Idol.Asked why they chose Yook Sung-Jae and Jung Joon-Young among all the K-Idols today to join the show, Viu Philippines Country Manager Arianne Kader-Cu said to PUSH: &quot;We&#x27;re actually so honored that Yook Sung-Jae and Jung Joon-Young joined the show because it&#x27;s very difficult actually, and I&#x27;m sure Andre can attest to that to get Koreans to come to the Philippines and shoot with the boys - and not only that, but inspire them.&quot;So they are in this show as inspirations because if you don&#x27;t know this, Yook Sung-Jae is part of Goblin, right? He&#x27;s not only an actor, but he sings and he dances. He is the lead singer of a K-Pop group called BTOB or Born To Beat. And Jung Joon-Young as well. We chose them because they are idols. They sing, they dance, they act. They are also part of the top shows in the Philippines for Korean dramas. So they&#x27;re here to inspire them, they were there for the beginning. And they were there to watch them transition to where they are now and where they will soon to be,&quot; she added.To be featured in a seven-episode show called Hello K-Idol, Viu and telco giant Globe will select only one winner from the ten aspiring male finalists who were chosen during the show&#x27;s on-ground auditions. The winner will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn K-Pop vocals and dance moves in a four-month all-expense paid scholarship at a renowned school in South Korea. Hello K-Idol starts airing on MYX this coming November 3 at 9 PM.

Yook Sung-Jae was chosen as one of the K-trainees' inspirations while Morissette will serve as the show's only Filipino judge.
