Veteran actor John Arcilla has expressed his excitement over his newest movie project under Viva Films.

On Instagram on Thursday, the Kapamilya star shared behind-the-scene photos from the set of Miracle in Cell No. 7 and said it was an honor for him to work with great actors and icons of this generation.

"One of the best films that will ever happen in my actor’s life this year is this Filipino adaptation of the popular Korean film drama 'Miracle In Cell No. 7'," he said.

"After the wacky 'Panti Sisters," he continued, referring to his last film under Black Sheep, "A drama film is here to touch your hearts and sense of justice."

Aside from John, joining lead stars Aga Muhlach and Bela Padilla in the highly anticipated drama film are Tirso Cruz III, Sol Cruz, Joel Torre, JC Santos, Jojit Lorenzo, and Mon Confiado.

The movie, which is based on the 2013 Korean blockbuster film of the same title, will be helmed by The Love Affair and A Secret Affair director Nuel Naval.

Miracle in Cell No. 7 is among the four official entries confirmed to join the 2019 run of the Metro Manila Film Festival, alongside Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity, Momalland, and the now-shelved (K)ampon.
