Last Saturday, Star Magic artists including Piolo Pascual, Matteo Guidicelli, Jake Cuenca, and Sharlene San Pedro were up early to join over a thousand cyclists for Sun Life Cycle PH at Bonifacio Global City. This gathering is the second of three events to celebrate the 11th year of SunPiology.
Last Saturday, Star Magic artists including Piolo Pascual, Matteo Guidicelli, Jake Cuenca, and Sharlene San Pedro were up early to join over a thousand cyclists for Sun Life Cycle PH at Bonifacio Global City. This gathering is the second of three events to celebrate the 11th year of SunPiology.
“We started with the Sun Life Virtual Run last November 18, where we had more than 500 runners who pledged to run for one month. I pledged 125km, and I think I was able to reach that,” Piolo shared.

Piolo, who joined the 40km ride, couldn’t be happier with the ongoing success of the project.

“It’s thriving and growing. A lot of people are becoming more aware. We’re doing this because we really want to raise awareness, and this is the best way to invite people to become healthier.” He wasn’t in it for any accolade, but simply to enjoy the ride. “I don’t want to compete. I just really want to take my time and enjoy the race. I just enjoy the view, the sunrise.”

Piolo just recently returned from a trip abroad for ASAP in Rome, and already he has several projects lined up. Yet, he manages to find time to stay fit and healthy.

“Wala akong off season. I never stop training,” he admitted. “Whenever I get the chance, I just pick up my bike; I ride, I run.”

He shared that it’s harder to get back on track if one keeps putting the brakes on training, especially when getting older.

An advocate of living a healthy lifestyle, Piolo encourages his son Iñigo to do the same.

“Whenever we’re together, wala siyang choice,” he shared. “He has to run with me, he has to train with me. We do boxing together. Every time we get a chance to be together, I tell him to train with me.”
