Carol Banawa remembers her brother on his 20th death anniversary

<p>In 2003, a tragic incident claimed the life of Carol Banawa’s brother and another family member. The two were sleeping in a parked car which led to carbon monoxide poisoning. Her father was able to survive but became paralyzed which led to his eventual death in 2012. Carol, who graduated summa cum laude from her nursing course last year, is now based in the US where she still performs occasionally. Last May 16, the singer shared just how much she missed her older brother Alexander.</p><p>She wrote:<br/>“For some reason, my mind keeps wandering back when I was in college..in UA&amp;P..when all I worried about was what I was going to eat for lunch, where were we going to hang out on Friday night..how will I pass Math..🤪 petty things really... Can’t believe that was over 20 years ago..June 15 marks my Kuya’s (Big brother) 20th death anniversary..has it really been that long? I still remember how I would peek through the glass window of his office door after I’m done with class..signaling that I was ready to go home. I can still remember how we would ride the FX every morning to go to school, how he would make fun of me wearing high heels walking down the steep roads of our village all because I wanted to ‘porma’   <br/>“I miss you Kuya. Very much. It doesn’t feel like 20 years. It’s funny how 20 years cannot erase the pain when you remember. Oh how I wish you were still here. I sure hope that you are proud of me. I know that you and Papa are always watching over us. I miss you.
