Bagong misyon ngayon ang nakatakdang gawin ng Kapamilya star na si Matteo Gudicelli bilang bahagi ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Kuwento ni Matteo sa panayam ng PUSH at ilang entertainment press, puspusan na ngayon ang kanyang paghahanda para sa kanyang 45-day training program bilang scout ranger ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“I’ll be gone for one month (Saan ka pupunta?) I’m entering the military, I’ll be in the military for one month. I’m entering on May 27 then I’ll be out July 1,” sabi pa ni Matteo sa press.

“It’s not normal military, it’s a scout ranger school,” paliwanag ni Matteo.

Kuwento ni Matteo, wala sa kanyang plano ang maging bahagi ng AFP na noon ay isang pangarap lang.

“Actually you know, hindi ko naman plano talaga e, it was never planned na ito na gusto ko na talaga. But back when I was in college I was always walking to my dorm. Sa America kasi, mayroong mga booths na parang ‘Join the Military’ and I was tempted to go inside, but I never had the courage to do so,” sabi ni Matteo.

“Few months back, the people of sky diving were rangers, people from the military and I got close with them sabi ko, ‘How can I be like you (laughs),’” masaya niyang tugon.

Para kay Matteo, lubos ang kanyang paghanga sa mga Pilipinong sundalo na nakikipag-sapalaran ng kanilang buhay para sa Bayan.

“These people are all heroes, people know about their efforts but not really. These guys are heroes of our country, these guys serve our country. We have hundreds of soldiers who died for our country and sabi ko a civilian like me, how can I help, how can I show importance to soldiers, how can I show importance to Filipino soldiers. So ayun, dahan-dahan everyday a new opportunity came,” paliwanag ni Matteo.

Aniya, hangad niya na maraming pang kabataan na Pilipino ang magkaroon ng interes na pasukin din ang militar sa Pilipinas.

“Parang this is my advocacy on reminding the Filipino youth to be proud to be Filipino, to look at the flag and say ‘I’m Pinoy’ and to proud to be Filipino,” pahayag pa niya.

Magsisimula ang 45-day training ni Matteo sa Camp Tecson sa Bulacan.
