Senate President Tito Sotto and actress-singer Helen Gamboa renewed their vows on Sunday to mark their 50th anniversary as a married couple.The intimate ceremony was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Batangas and was attended by the couple&#x27;s family and close friends.On Instagram, Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, the only son of Tito and Helen, said that it was the same church where his parents eloped exactly 50 years ago.Other photos from the event were shared by their daughter, actress-singer Ciara Sotto, and Nice Print Photography on social media.Celebrities in attendance were Vic Sotto, his wife Pauleen Luna, and Joey de Leon, among others.Aside from Gian and Ciara, Tito and Helen&#x27;s other children Apple and Lala Sotto were also present.In an interview with <a href="https://www.manilatimes.net/2018/02/26/show-times/tito-sotto-helen-gamboa-mark-49th-wedding-anniversary/382827/">The Manila Times</a>, Tito quoted the cliche, &#x27;a happy wife is a happy life&#x27;, as one of the secrets to their strong marriage.“I try my very best to [always] make her happy. She takes care of me but it has always been about her. If she’s happy, then I’m happy. She’s my everything. In my 69 years [in this world], 49 years [and looking forward for decades more] had been spent with her. She is my life,” he said.
