In order to help more students avail of online education, Edu Manzano and his friends have started a donation drive to help provide more computers to schools and different organizations who can help children shift to online learning. In his Instagram post last July 20, Edu shared that their first batch of donations included 10 computers which was turned over to the Philippine Foundation of Tahanan ng Panginoon, Inc., a non-profit, tax exempt Christian ministry associated with Ligaya ng Panginoon in Quezon City.

In the same post, the 64-year-old actor and politician also thanked the people who pitched in to help support the ongoing computer donation drive.

Aside from his showbiz career which has spanned more than three decades, Edu also entered politics when he ran for Vice Mayor of Makati in 1998. He became the first chairman of the Optical Media Board which was a government agency tasked with combating optical media piracy in 2004. In 2010, he ran as the vice-presidential running mate of Gilbert Teodoro. In 2016, Edu ran for senator as part of Partido Galing at Puso and finished in 21st place during the official tally. In 2019, he ran for congressman in the city of San Juan. He was last seen on ABS-CBN via the primetime series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano which he had to exit as part of the election rules.
