Erich Gonzales and her memorable showbiz projects

Before Erich Gonzales became a household name in the entertainment industry, she was a simple girl from Davao with a goal to achieve her dreams.

Erich, who was born Erika Chryselle Gonzales, entered showbiz through the reality-based talent competition Star Circle Quest in 2004 where she was hailed as the Grand Questor of Season 2.

Erich was then given numerous projects including the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode titled “Regalo,” where she acted alongside veteran actress Vilma Santos.

The Kapamilya star rose into fame when she was given the lead role in the 2009 TV series Katorse. It also paved the way for her love team with on-screen partner Enchong Dee.

The year after, Erich top billed and made her big screen debut in the 2010 film I Do, where she played the role of Mayumi who wanted to meet her “the one.”

Following the success of Katorse, Erich was given another lead role in the primetime drama series Tanging Yaman, which also starred Jodi Sta. Maria.

2010 was a busy year for the actress as she was given the role of Chloe Abella in the drama series Magkaribal, together with Bea Alonzo, Enchong Dee, and Angel Aquino, among others.

Erich also showed her hosting skills when she co-hosted several episodes of the morning talk show Kris TV back in 2011 to 2015.

Not long after, Erich starred as Maria Hernandez in another hit series titled Maria La Del Barrio, which aired from 2011 to 2012. This marked Erich and Enchong's fourth TV series together.

Erich was juggling TV and movie projects here and there but was able to finish two films in 2012. One of which was the thriller movie Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang.

During the same year, the Filipina actress top billed the Star Cinema romance film Suddenly It's Magic, opposite Thai superstar Mario Maurer. It followed the story of two people who experienced heartbreak, and found love and solace with one another.

She was also partnered with Coco Martin in the fantasy series Juan Dela Cruz back in 2013, where she played the role of Rosario Galang-Dela Cruz.

From 2014 to 2015, Erich got the role of Janine Arguello in the Philippine remake of the South Korean drama Two Wives, where she acted alongside Kaye Abad and Jason Abalos.

Erich continued to star in Kapamilya projects including the daytime series Be My Lady in 2016 with Daniel Matsunaga.

The Kapamilya star also headlined the 2017 movie Siargao, which was an entry to the 43rd Metro Manila Film Festival.

In 2018, Erich made a TV comeback via the hit crime-drama series The Blood Sisters, which followed the story of three sisters – triplets who were separated from each other when they were infants. This was considered as one of Erich’s most challenging projects as she portrayed the three main characters.

In 2020, Erich continued to remain in the spotlight as she was offered a lead role in the TV series La Vida Lena.

Playing the role of Magdalena Mendoza, Erich is joined by other actors like Janice De Belen, Carlo Aquino, and Sofia Andres in La Vida Lena, which means “The Life of Lena.”

The fast cut version of the series first aired on iWantTFC from November 2020 to January 2021.

Meanwhile, its TV broadcast version was released in June 2021 and is currently airing on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and TV5.
