<p>It’s been 28 years since she won the Binibining Pilipinas World title in 1993 and took home the 2nd runner-up crown at the Miss World international pageant in the same year but Ruffa Gutierrez shows that some memories are still very fresh in her mind. She wrote, “November 27, 1993: The day I met Vanessa Williams at the 43rd Miss World Beauty Pageant when she asked me, ‘Miss Philippines, how would you tell a girl who is suffering from low self esteem to feel better about herself?’ My answer : ‘I would tell her to believe in herself because it’s not only physical beauty that’s important, it’s also inner beauty.
