It was an easy decision for Ina Raymundo to accept her latest project as a sexy, older woman in the iWant series Ampalaya Chronicles: Me &amp; Mrs. Cruz which starts this month. The 45-year-old actress said she feels lucky to be given steady work even during an ongoing pandemic.“It’s really about losing someone you love and the regret of losing that person. So nung binabasa ko yung script, naiiyak na ako sa mga lines ni Mrs. Cruz kasi full of regrets. So the story taught me to value the people you love. Ang pagiging artista sa totoo lang, blessing eh. Kasi tuloy tuloy pa rin ang mga shows, kumbaga digital, TV, ang daming medium for mga series like that. Blessed ang mga artista at pati mga staff behind the camera kasi may chance sila mag-work. It’s nice that na yung protocol sa taping very safe so hindi yun yung concern mo kasi tini-test nga regularly. My husband is not very romantic to be very honest with you (laughs). And aminado naman siya na hindi siya romantic na tao so siguro nung nag-de-date pa lang kami, nung bago pa lang kami, he swept me off my feet, yung ganun. Hindi ko na maisip in particular but he really spoiled me and all that. 20 years later, he’s still a very good husband pero yung pagiging romantic it’s so sad nawawala talaga yun after so many years. Kaya kailangan talaga extra effort from the guy. But it’s understandable because he’s busy. He’s busy with our kids, he’s busy with our only son playing baseball so talagang i-a-accept mo na lang kasi ang dami niyong anak. Mahirap din yung maging romantic pa at this point. Baka ikahiya nila ako, yung mga ganun. But my kids are so open-minded. They’re very, very Canadian I guess. Hindi sila narrow-minded. Yung daughter ko she’s very mature, very liberated. She’s very educated so minsan ako pa yung mali. May mga statements ako na i-ko-correct niya ako. She’s very supportive and I think proud naman sila sa mga ginagawa ko. Wala namang problema. Okay naman kasi nag-ma-mature na rin sila. Pero yung mga mas bata, yung pang-apat ko pag may nakikita siya akong ka-kiss na guy sa screen na-u-upset siya. But now she understands na role lang yun. Hindi totoo yun,” she explained.Compared to the sexy onscreen roles she had before she got married, Ina said she is happy to be in a position to choose and set limitations on what she wants to do in front of the camera.“Kasi naman nung ‘90s let’s admit usong uso talaga ang mga super sexy movies, lahat na. Talagang may exploitation na nagaganap, yung ganung level. But this time no, it’s just the right amount. And I’m so happy na sakto lang, na hindi ka na-pressure na gawin mo yung beyond ng makakaya mo and for that’s very good. At this point naman talaga, kaya ko na rin talagang mag-no. Kumbaga meron na akong wisdom to say no I can’t do that. So yun naman yung difference ngayon. And hindi naman na uso ngayon yung over the top na sexy thank goodness,” she said.
