<p>Angel Locsin on Thursday, March 25, said she and other organizers of the Shop and Share initiative have decided to donate the rest of its proceeds to efforts to vaccinate more Filipinos against COVID-19.</p><p>In her latest post on Instagram, the Kapamilya actress said the proceeds, which amounts to PHP6 million, will be split between five cities—Baguio, Manila, Pasig, Taguig, and Quezon—and the Philippine Red Cross which are active in the fight against COVID-19 and now have &quot;solid COVID-19 Vaccination initiatives for members of their communities.&quot;</p><div> </div><blockquote relaunched Shop and Share last year to raise funds to help carry out COVID-19 mass testing in the country.</p><p>The celebrities who supported the cause by donating their pre-loved items and paintings test kits</u></strong></a></div><p>The Philippines on Tuesday, March 25, confirmed 8,773 new cases of COVID-19, surpassing the previous record of 8,019 announced by the Department of Health last Monday, March 22. </p><p>The day&#x27;s tally raised the country&#x27;s total number of infections to 693,048, of which 13,095 were deaths, 580,062 were recoveries, and 99,891 were active cases.</p><p>The surge in COVID-19 infections has prompted the government to place Metro Manila and 4 neighboring provinces (Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal) under general community quarantine with additional restrictions, starting March 22 until April 4.</p>
