and anxiety and then a lot of people actually know that I went through something so bad. It probably doesn’t seem bad because you know, I’m wearing this nice Chanel jacket. But these things don’t matter if you’re not happy or you’re going through something in your mind,&quot; she said.</p><p>&quot;Really, honestly, when I went through something, I thought, my accessories, my bags would give me a purpose to live. I didn’t know how I got into that blackhole. And I remember thinking of the worst things, like I felt I was left with no choice but to kind of end things. It was really that bad,&quot; she added.</p><p>While she did not identify the specific event that led to the difficult period, Heart, in previous interviews, admitted that she became depressed after miscarrying her twins in 2018.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2019/2/20/fresh-scoops/heart-evangelista-posts-a-touching-message-f-36123"><strong><u>READ: Heart Evangelista posts a touching message for niece Bella, recalls miscarriage</u></strong></a></div><p>Sharing how she overcame those trying times, Heart said she decided to seek professional help. </p><p>&quot;I saw a doctor, I even took certain meds for that time. I’m not ashamed to say that because I’m in a better place now. I’m so glad that I did that because why would I waste life? Why would I waste opportunities and my dreams, and why would I do that to the people who love me? I just also know as a person, I have so much love in my heart—why would I waste that?&quot; she said. </p><p>She then shared her advice to those who are struggling with similar mental health problems. </p><p>&quot;Don’t be ashamed. I remember feeling like a lemon, like a reject in a factory. Like, what’s wrong with me? But no. It’s actually okay not to be okay. It’s okay not to be perfect. It’s normal that you’re not perfect. And everybody needs a little guidance from time to time,&quot; she said.</p><p>&quot;So, if you’re going through something really, really bad, the first step is to talk to somebody. And if that person isn’t giving you the right advice, talk to somebody else. Just keep talking to people. You will find that person that will direct you, and say, ‘You know, ito ang gagawin natin. Ayusin natin ‘to. Kaya mo ‘yan.’ That’s just how simple it is, and believe me, you will get over it,&quot; she continued.</p><p>“When it comes to mental health, you cannot draw strength from someone. You have to work on yourself. Yourself is the only one that’s going to save you,&quot; she added.</p>
